Rolling Hill Farm, tucked away in central Virginia for over three generations, will open its doors in Fall 2006 with its first crop of  hand-picked, organic Shiitake mushrooms.  Our farm seeks to serve health-conscious people in the Virginia Piedmont and beyond.  We will expand our offerings of organic produce and free range chickens and goats throughout 2007.  Rolling Hill Farm is also a VA Certified Nursery that specializes in providing Native Virginia Trees, Shrubs and Ephemerals for a variety of uses.  By special arrangement, Rolling Hill Farm is also able to offer Dicranum and Thuidium Moss for Commercial Landscaping installations.

Fed by natural mountain streams running beneath the land, and soil rich in mineral content and free from man-made chemicals, all our organic products are as pristine and nutritious as mother nature permits.  As we expand to include small livestock, our practices will remain true to organic, free range philosophy.  We will be practicing sustainable agriculture and silvaculture as we cultivate and sustain the environment. 

2008 UPDATE

After much heartfelt consideration, we have decided to discontinue pursuing Organic Certification.  We will, though, still farm organically and apply sustainable agricultural practices in all that we do.  We figure that when WAL-MART becomes the largest retailer of organic foods in the U.S. -  something is 'wrong' with the system.  We will do what we do with the highest integrity.  We will be researching other certification options.  Please feel free to call to discuss these changes.
